Europe
is currently experiencing record breaking rainfall this summer. One of the consequences
of global warming is that Europe undergoes warmer but rainier summers. But according
to the Bishop of Carlisle, Rev. Graham Dow, it is not global warming but God
that has caused these floods, as God is unleashing his wrath due to Europe’s
acceptance of homosexuality.
‘This is a
strong and definite judgment because the world has been arrogant in going its
own way, [...] we are reaping the consequences of our moral degradation, as
well as the environmental damage that we have caused. [...] We are in serious
moral trouble because every type of lifestyle is now regarded as legitimate,
[...] in the Bible, institutional power is referred to as 'the beast', which
sets itself up to control people and their morals. Our government has been
playing the role of God in saying that people are free to act as they want,
[...] the sexual orientation regulations are part of a general scene of
permissiveness. We are in a situation where we are liable for God's judgment,
which is intended to call us to repentance.’
So
there you have it, God is in a tizzy because we are not shunning homosexuals or
chasing them out of town with pitchforks. By being open and accepting and
allowing people to be who they are, we have angered God; and how does he deal
with this anger, by flooding sections of Europe which were previously susceptible
to flooding in the past but this time a bit higher! How devious, he does
it in such a manner it is almost like he is not involved at all. But what about
the poor folk who have not accepted the homosexual ‘lifestyle’ and are affected
by the floods? Well the Bishops offers his condolences but states that the
problem with ‘environmental judgment is that it is indiscriminate’. So
everybody is punished, not just those who have wronged God; even Russia, a very
anti-homosexual nation compared to the rest of Europe, was worst hit with over
150 deaths.
To
claim people have died due to the tolerance and acceptance shown towards a
section of society is ludicrous and highly ignorant. Unfortunately the world is
populated by such people, as the rest of us trudge forward in an attempt to
advance society we are held back by these people as their knuckles slowly
drag along the ground. The other worrying aspect is the amount of time
granted to clergy in such matters. If you assign the quotes above to any lay
person they would be brushed off as ignorant and stupid and not given a second
thought; however, put an ecclesiastical title before their name and suddenly
anything that spews forth from their gullets is held with regard despite their
lack of expertise on the subject or how ridiculous their statements are.

As a Brit I should perhaps point out that our media have given far greater coverage to the warming alarmists who say the rains are the fault of the catastrophic warming which is otherwise unnoticeable, than to this silly bishop.
ReplyDeleteI do not think the bishop has a previous record of promising that homosexuality would prodcue a future of drier summers though the climate alarmists most certainly do.
The problem is that promoters of all religions have to rely on making evidence free assertions. If God were to manifest himself on the White House lawn and say that he hated gays, or at least as likely that his was one, the religious "experts" would be out of a job. Equally if 33 years of "catastrophic warming" had produced such warming, 50 million climate regugees, massive sea level rises, Holland under the sea, children never having seen snow and all the other things promised alarmists (like Skip Evans, a regular blogger here) would not have to go on blogs, anonymously, writing that those who doubt the story are nazis who have sex with sheep. If such warming were happening alarmists would not need such obscene idiots and would not welcome them to their ranks.
